About Jon Helmer
Having first ‘discovered’ my passion for wine whilst backpacking through Italy, I have since worked in the wine industry for the last 22 years and I continue that dream by running the Geelong Cellar Door in the funky Little Malop Street precinct. But it isn’t just a love of wine that keeps me in the game, it’s also a love for new idea’s, new products and the many people you meet and their stories that makes it all worthwhile. I also am a wine writer for some local media publications and have recently produced my first wine and established my own label – Domaine D’Esterre.
My ‘other life’ sees me moonlighting as manager and guitarist in rock covers band ‘Madhouse’ for the last 20 year’s, alongside the many entrepreneurial events and concerts I’ve organized over the journey.
