Anyway, of course Erena was the absolute expert to guide us through 5 local wines that are perfect to try this Winter! You're welcome.
Oakdene ‘Liz’s Chardonnay’ 2012 $32
This Chardonnay has beautiful depth paired with a gorgeous creamy texture and a toasty finish. An absolute winner with roast chicken.
Pn2 Pinot Noir 2012 $25
The biodynamic wines produced at Basils Farm are well worth an explore. The Pn2 Pinot Noir has beautiful spice on the palette and some funky aromas that are, in part, due to their natural wine making methods.
Livewire Field Blend Six 2014 $26
If you’re after something a bit different in the white wine department, this is the wine for you! Made from six different varieties including Viognier, Riesling, Savignon Blanc and Chardonnay, this blend has seen a little bit of oak and is perfect for winter fish pies and gentle curries.
Baie Shiraz 2013 $34
The Baie Shiraz is a true reflection of our cool, maritime climate. This Shiraz has plenty of dark fruit flavour with a finish of spice and oak and is a great medium bodied drink.
Marcus Hill Pinot Meunier 2012 $28
Pinot Meunier is often buried deep in our Champagne and sparkling blends but this wine from Marcus Hill shows the beautiful berry notes that Pinot Meunier exhibits as a single varietal. Try pairing with some charcuterie – delicious!
