A very beachy Christmas
The long range weather forecast for Christmas is looking good (no 'super storms' predicted so far), and the beach is calling.
So to help prepare you for silly season we've tracked down 6 top options for lunch on Christmas day.
For a slightly more casual affair, head to RORO Cafe on the Beach, Queenscliff.
Sip some bubbles and take in the amazing views at RoRo Café on the Beach, before indulging in a 3 course gourmet lunch, including Roast Beetroot and Caramelized Onion Tartlet served with Red Hill sheep’s milk curd, watercress, pine nut & fig vincotto, or House Cured Salmon served with a green pea blini, cream fraiche, cucumber & yuzu pearls.
Traditional Christmas Roast Honey glazed ham and roasted turkey breast. Served with sage and parsley stuffing, roasted root vegetables & rosemary gravy. Or for the vegetarians there is Peninsula Larder Truffle Gnocchi Served with porcini mushrooms, wilted spinach, parmesan and white truffle oil. Two sittings available, get your group organised.
You can take in the beautiful view of the Rip and the passing ships in the Ripview Bistro. With the best view in town the club rooms are a fabulous setting to celebrate the festive season. Choose from a non traditional menu that covers all tastes, that includes king prawn cocktail, Atlantic Salmon, Eye fillet, roast chicken, or Spanish omelette.
Enjoy everything an Australian Christmas lunch should be in the stunning Grand Dining Room surrounded by huge trees, festive lights and Christmas carols. A luxury-laden set lunch includes fresh seafood entries (think oysters, Portarlington mussels, spiced octopus and cured salmon), followed by a classic carvery selection including turkey, ham, scotch fillet, chook and garden veggies. Then of course, there's dessert.

Want to keep things low key? Have yourself a modern Australian Christmas lunch with a more DIY vibe and take a BBQ picnic in the park. Queenscliff Farm Foods can help prepare your Christmas Hamper with plenty of dips, cheeses and smoke fish on offer. Grab some gourmet Christmas sausages and compliment it with some wine from the large range of sparkling, white, and red wines along with local craft beer. Breads available, but usually sold out by 12 on Christmas Eve, so best get in early.

Seafood straight from the boat open Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th December pop down to the Harbour to get a selection of fresh seafood for your picnic and BBQ Open 8am – 3pm you will be able to get prawns, oysters, scallops, muscles, salmon and much more.
