Paint and Sip at Leura Park Estate

With easel set up, paint brush (and wine) in hand, take to your canvas under the creative guidance of renowned local artists at Leura Park’s Paint and Sip.  Classes include aprons, personalised instruction, five 75ml premium wine tastings, delicious canapes and cheese and your own canvas masterpiece to take home.

Queenscliff Brewhouse and Distillery

Get into the spirit of learning about liquor at Queenscliff Brewhouse and Distillery’s ‘Spirit Masterclasses’.  Hosted by leading industry professionals, sip and sample the goods while the experts in their field guide you through what makes them passionate about the product. From peated whisky to gin to Japanese whisky, there is a plethora of spirits waiting to be discovered (and tasted).

Work alongside Queenscliff Brewhouse and Distillery’s very own brewer in their onsite microbrewery.  The ‘Brewer for a Day’ experience gives you the extremely unique opportunity of brewing a full commercial scale batch of beer; from mashing the grain through to transferring 300 litres of wort to a fermenter and inoculating it with yeast.  This is where you go to explore the science behind the art of craft beer.

Cooking Classes @ Jackrabbit

Learn, experience, laugh and feast your way through Cooking Classes with Dwayne Bourke, a series of very special culinary events. Join one ofhte region's most dynamic and talented chefs - Dwayne Bourke, Executive Chef at Jack Rabbit Vineyard, as he escorts you on a hands on journey for the senses.

The National Hotel

The National Hotel, Geelong are famed for their classes with a difference.  First came ‘Paint Your Dog’, next came ‘Paint Your Mate’, both of which can be placed under the innovative, creative category of ‘boozy art class’.  Follow along as their talented resident artist guides you step-by-step on how to paint.  Meanwhile, the bar is open, allowing for a little bit of fluid inspiration.   

Mt Duneed Estate

Mixing it up is the picture perfect estate of Mt Duneed.  Salute to the sun with their ‘Yoga and Wine’ class.  Warmer months see you outdoors, performing your poses amongst the vines.  Colder months take you indoors but still affords you stunning views of the vineyard and the Barrabool Hills.  Classes include a two course breakfast served with a glass of bubbles.

Mt Duneed Estate also plays host to a variability array of workshops, changing it up on a regular basis.  From Terarium making to Kokedama (style of Japanese Bonsai) to Macramé plant hangers.  All plants/decorations are included in the cost of the class.  Make a full day of it and come early and/or stay later for some wine tasting and food devouring.

Hazy Tales

The Clay and Cocktails by Candlelight workshops are a fortnightly series held in the stylish studios of Hazy Tales.  Each event takes on a different theme; mugs, vase, platter, sphere garden, porcelain jewellery, totem pole, bird sculptures, to name just a few.  Each guest is given the space and tools to create, the guidance to help and a glass of something special to add to the enjoyment factor.  And then at the end of it all (approximately 6-8 weeks later), your masterwork is yours to take home and display with pride.

Basils Farm

As the seasons change, so do Basils Farm’s ‘Seasonal Gardening Workshops’ and family friendly 'Meet the Animals' sessions.  Designed to embrace the season we find ourselves in, these workshops cover a wide range of topics; soil preparation, planting guide, nutrients, composting and mulching, irrigation - all tailored toward seasonal variants. Hosted in their abundantly rich kitchen garden, this is a get-your-hands-dirty kind of workshop.
