Take a Ride
The Portarlington Bayside Miniature Railway will be running special services every Wednesday and Sunday of the School Holidays, from 11am to 3pm. Pack a picnic and have lunch on the grass!
Hop on-board one of Bellarine Railway's Heritage carriages and take a scenic steam train ride between Queenscliff and Drysdale. Plus, every Tuesday during the holidays Dazzling Dan the Magic Man will be jump on-board at Queenscliff and run magic workshops with the kids.
Searoad Ferries will be running a host of onboard activities throughout the holidays including interactive Dolphin Workshops, Upcycling Craft sessions and magic and science shows!
Saddle On will be running riding school day camps on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of July for young riders (7+). Day Camp features a full day of supervised riding, lessons on pony care and gear maintenance and all meals. Book now as holiday camps are super popular.
The Great Outdoors
Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday throughout the holidays, head down to Basil's Farm and say hello to all the locals, including llamas, sheep and ducks. It’s great interactive fun and totally free.
Collect the clubs (or simply hire some) and head to Lonsdale Golf Club these holidays for Junior Golf sessions, supervised by members every Saturday afternoon from 3pm. Great for all levels, whether the next Carrie Webb or a budding Aaron Baddeley.
Portarlington Golf Club is also welcoming the next generation of golfers with an Open Junior Golf Challenge on the 16th July. Endorsed by Golf Victoria and the SWGA Order of Merit, competition is open to 5-15 year olds (handicap not required).

Geelong Botanic Gardens is calling all bug fans to join the Bug Hotel program. Participants will get their hands dirty making their own Bug Hotel, join a big Bug Hunt (to find some tenants) and all efforts will be combined into a giant bug hotel for the Gardens. Programs start at 10am on the 4th, 6th, 11th and 14th of July.
The Farmers Place has heaps of activities on this holiday period, from learning to make scones, sauerkraut or homemade porridge, to crafting your own bonsai or planting your own veggie patch. There's also guided bushwalks, story telling and farming fun. Pick a day (or three) and book now.
Narana will be running their 'Experience Narana' tours twice daily throughout the holidays, where you can meet some local wildlife, decorate and throw boomerangs and learn about this incredible culture from the experts.

Arts & Crafts
These school holidays, Geelong Gallery has all your artistic interests covered. With a packed calendar including explorations of 3D still life and collage painting and interactive 'edible' art workshops. Great for kids from 5+ (and parents too!).
The National Wool Museum also has a host of arty adventures for the kids, including Scarf Craft activities, space-inspired Milky Way printing and Galaxy Lanterns making. There's also tie-dye stamps, alien artworks and experimental space projections (using food and liquids). Check the calendar and get involved!
