Regional World’s Longest Lunches – Geelong, Bellarine, Inverleigh and Queenscliff | FRI 31 March

“Build a longer table, not a higher fence.” So they did. Not just one, but twenty simultaneous long lunch tables around the state, including four in our midst. At Geelong’s waterfront, pull up a seat by Corio Bay and let the region’s top chefs, winemakers and sommeliers indulge you while raising funds for a local cause. At Bellarine Estate, it’s a wine-matched seafood extravaganza. At Inverleigh, kick-back in Gladioli’s garden marquee and tuck into canapés, sparkling wines and a sumptuous three-courser. At Queenscliff, it’s seaside all the way with a harbour boardwalk table set for a stunning four-course homage to local produce.   MORE

Bellarine Bounty! Tomato Celebration & Seaside Lunch | SUN 2 April

The not-so-humble tomato is guest of honour at this alfresco seaside lunch at Basils Farm. Mmmm, tomato and basil is my favourite food combo. Expect seasonal grazing platters, shared banquet lunch, wild-fermented wines and a guided tour of the edible garden and farm – it’s all about natural, artisan, biodynamic, organic and sustainable practices. Oh, and sensational views across Swan Bay.   MORE

Heritage and Heirlooms on a Plate | SAT 8 Apr

Take an edible tour through Werribee Park Heritage Orchard, Community Gardens and historic mansion. All aboard the Oakdene Express for tour and tastings in the vineyard before an exquisite three-course restaurant lunch. Oakdene is famous for more than its award-wining wines. I’ll be poking around the always-evolving grounds in search of eclectic artworks and quirky installations.   MORE
