Nestled in the heart of leafy, suburban Newtown, The Retreat builds on the legacy of community and connection enjoyed by the site in its former life as Bareena Post Office.
With just 50 seats, it offers an intimate dining experience with a warm, European-inspired ambience.
The menu, crafted by award-winning chef Eli Grubb, draws from classic French cuisine—featuring a curated à la carte selection, the chef’s “Dinner Du Jour”, and ‘Fromage et Vin’—cheese, light snacks and wine – served Thursday to Sunday, 3–5PM.
The Retreat is currently serving lunch 7 days, dinner Thursday through Sunday, and coffees and pastries from 8AM on weekends.
