The Beach House Geelong
Located in a 1930s heritage pavilion on the Eastern Beach foreshore, The Beach House has become an instant favourite with Geelong locals since opening in late 2019.
Operated by The Mulberry Group, the menu is a mix of Melbourne cafe classics like avocado on toast and ricotta hotcakes, along with all-day fare like eggs Benedict with brisket, a wagyu beef burger and local Portarlington mussels in a smoked tomato sauce. Many ingredients are sourced from The Mulberry Group's nearby farm in Freshwater Creek, called Common Ground Project.
Coffee is by Square One Coffee Roasters and the venue is also fully licensed, showcasing local wines and beers from the Bellarine region.
Studio Esteta (the team behind the look of Lune Croissanterie) transformed the brick 1920s seaside changing room into a modern, light-filled eatery.
Downstairs is the main cafe and kiosk, a mix of sandy hues and coastal design touches, with a takeaway menu from the kiosk that's perfect for those looking to nab a comfy spot on the grass slopes nearby and tuck in.
Upstairs is summer cocktail bar Bathers and a dedicated events space available for hire, with panoramic views of the Geelong waterfront.
