Festival of Glass
At Twilight Flames, international visiting artists Davide Penso from Murano, Italy with Cèdric Ginart and Karina Guevin from Montreal, Canada will create extraordinary glass sculptures over drinks and nibbles from co-hosts The Range, Curlewis.
Davide, Cèdric and Karina will demonstrate their extraordinary creativity in the auditorium of Drysdale’s Christian College at the 2019 Festival of Glass Expo (Sunday 17 February, 10:00am to 4:00pm). Visitors will see almost 50 stalls featuring glass art, sculpture, jewelry, mosaics and homewares; the Treasure Hunt draw; and the Glass Art Awards.
The 2019 Festival includes a great diversity of glass art classes for beginners to experienced glass artists.
This year, Drysdale’s Café Zoo is the venue for three innovations.
Davide Penso will run a four day Jewellery Lab (21 to 24 February) where people of all skill levels can turn their jewellery ideas into wearable pieces, showcased at a gala evening.
Cèdric Ginart and Karina Guevin will create complex, quirky glass goblets at Torch and Talk on 18 February 5:30 to 7:30pm.
Finally, Cèdric and Karina will run the Festival’s first borosilicate glass workshop - More is better from 13 to 15 February.
