Something Crafty is Brewing

With the craft-beer revolution bubbling away, we've made a list of the locals keeping the scene brewing. Whether you're up for a hoppy adventure or a relaxed weekend, step up to the bar.

White Rabbit Brewery

Happily housed within the Little Creatures Village, the walls are lined with salvaged oak barrels – filled with ageing ales and other experiments – and the open fermenters give the place a wonderfully industrial vibe in which to enjoying some serious home-grown hospitality.

Having expanded the range from the old Healesville days, the team at White Rabbit have a bunch of intriguing options on tap, from the Dark Ale, to the White and Pale Ales, through to the more adventurous Sour Red and Teddywidder. A must try for the more adventurous.

Little Creatures

Born on the Fremantle waterfront (in an old crocodile farm), these legends love doing things a little bit differently and have steadily become one of Australia’s most loved Pale Ales. Expanding on this success they’ve launched a number of new brews and opened up shop in Geelong, and even launched a little known session ale called Furphy.

The Little Creatures Village is a must visit for any beer-lover, serving up summer events, regular limited releases and a perfect spot for a sunny weekend session.

Queenscliff Brewhouse

Combining an impressive range of carefully curated craft beers (and a broad range of other bevies), with live music and great local produce, the Brewhouse is one of the go-to venues for a craft beer adventure.

Featuring an absolute host of house beers from their mates at Prickly Moses, as well as a supporting cast of quality local and Australian brews. With tasting options and helpful staff, head to Queenscliff (or Apollo Bay) and take a tour around the taps.

Mt Duneed Estate

Better known for their outstanding forays into wines, the team at Mt. Duneed have even dabbled in creating a few bespoke beers for their Day on the Green Festivals. Delivering an introductory selection of an American Pale and an easy drinking Festival Lager.

Drop in to the Barrel Hall and enjoy locally sourced meal pairings, or make a bigger booking and bring the gang.

Flying Brick Cider House

Even with so many amazing craft beer options on the list, we had to give a shout out to our favourite cider specialists. Housed in a retro-inspired landmark venue, and serving up delicious, traditional ciders seven days a week. With live music and a no-nonsense menu, it's a great alternative (and even has some beers available).
