What’s coming up with Geelong Arts Centre

The Geelong Arts Centre, located in the cultural heart of Geelong, will soon be the largest regional space for creative and performing arts in Australia.

High-calibre shows have continued to roll out at Costa Hall while the centre undergoes its transformation before reopening later this year.

With carefully curated performances that are nothing short of extraordinary, the Geelong Arts Centre’s 2023 program celebrates both internationally acclaimed talent and rising homegrown powerhouses with something for everyone to enjoy.

TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT’S COMING UP:

small metal objects

27-29 April 2023

A theatre show in the public domain; part voyeuristic meditation, part urban thriller.

An ingenious theatrical and award-winning gem, small metal objects unfolds amidst the pedestrian traffic of Market Square Shopping Centre. With individual sets of headphones, the audience is wired into an intensely personal drama being played out somewhere in the crowd.

Back to Back Theatre is driven by an ensemble of actors with intellectual disabilities. Here, the company explores how respect is withheld from outsiders – the disabled or unemployed – who society deems ‘unproductive’.
