Visit the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse surrounds and admire the spectacular views over the entrance to Port Phillip Heads and along the coast to Ocean Grove and Cape Schanck.
Visitors will discover stories of the notorious rip which makes this harbour entrance so dangerous, find out about the sea pilots and discover the history of the area’s lighthouses and shipwrecks.
General public tours to the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse are organised by volunteers of Queenscliffe Maritime Museum on Sunday mornings or by appointment. Children must be at least five years old (95 centimetres tall) to tour the lighthouse. Appropriate footwear is required, and safety conditions apply.
Bookings are recommended. Maximum of eight people per tour.
