Open Garden at Claremont in Newtown, Geelong
Come and visit and celebrate the 120 year milestone of this historic house and outstanding garden at Claremont in Geelong.
An acre (0.4 ha) of beautiful ‘old-style’ garden includes an Edwardian glasshouse and a collection of 100+ year old trees – including a towering Norfolk Island Pine on the front lawn as well as huge oak, ginkgo, liquidambar and arbutus. Claremont has belonged to the Gray family for 120 years.
There are vegetable and berry gardens and an orchard, as well as ‘traditional’ favourites including roses, dahlias and diverse, colourful garden bed displays.
Proceeds from this opening will be donated to GAWS Geelong Animal Welfare Society.
