Geelong String Quartet Presents: Marvel Themes and Mendelssohn

Experience the cinematic energy and atmosphere of themes from across the Marvel universe, with selections drawn from The Avengers, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Captain America, Loki, WandaVision, Moon Knight, Agatha All Along and more. The final selection and order of Marvel themes may vary.

At the heart of the concert is Mendelssohn's String Quartet No. 6 in F minor, Op. 80. Written following the death of his beloved sister Fanny, the quartet moves through grief, fury, tenderness and extraordinary intensity. It is a deeply personal work and one of Mendelssohn's most gripping musical achievements.

Led by Geelong violinist Jamie Parker, Geelong String Quartet features Jessica Leigh on violin, Flora Cawte on viola and Erna Lai on cello. Together, these exceptional professional musicians create an experience designed to welcome both dedicated classical audiences and listeners discovering string quartet music for the first time.
