Introduction to Reduction Linocut

Join in to learn the basics of reduction linocut.

Reduction linocut is a form of printmaking that requires a reduction of the plate for each colour you use. Its a slight advantage to understand the basics of linocut however not a requirement.

At this workshop you will learn the process and brief history, how to prepare your image, image transfer onto a plate, setting up registration system through the Ternes -Burton registration system.

Everyone leaves with a finished piece and a couple of beautiful prints to take home. All materials (ink, linocut, tools, and high-quality printmaking paper) are supplied. You will get to use of a large professional press. Expert guidance and plenty of encouragement will be provided during the workshop.

The workshop will have a maximum of five participants, with a minimum of two required to run. This workshop is perfect for anyone aged 10 years and over who wants to experiment with art, try something new, or just enjoy a creative day out. Great for beginners and experienced artists alike, especially if you've always wanted to try working with a press.
