Geelong Vintage Market’s cavernous 2,000 sqm is full of vintage clothing, furniture, books, records, antiques, collectables and more from dozens of individual sellers. So chances are if you're looking for something, you'll find it here.
The market is located within the funky Federal Mills in North Geelong, a heritage red brick complex that was once a 1915 woollen mill but is now home to a gin distiller, restaurants, cafes and shops. It's minutes away from the Spirit of Tasmania terminal and a great pitstop on your way to or from the ferry.

For the military buffs and collectors, you won't want to miss Armor Antiques. It has one of Australia’s largest collections of genuine military uniforms and service memorabilia that's been 15 years in the making.
The collection spans military, Police, Red Cross, St Johns Ambulance, Legacy, Salvation Army and Nursing. Visitors can discover Japanese swords, Samurai armour, helmets, antique pistols, uniforms, medals, badges, and militaria from across the world.
One of the most significant items is an original World War One German flag. It was captured at the surrender of the German garrison in Samoa on 29 August 1914, making it the first flag surrendered to Allied forces.
Armor Antiques has three large rooms filled with militaria and collectables. It is a place to spend time browsing, learning and uncovering unique pieces of history. The shop also buys and sells antique swords, guns, helmets, badges, uniforms, medals and books, with a large range of authentic Samurai armour on display.
Geelong has more than its fair share of op shops and the north end of Pakington Street (Geelong West) is a hotspot with about half a dozen good-sized shops to explore - many within walking distance of each other. There are some higher-end stores that resell luxury brand clothing and accessories at a fair price.
High Street in Belmont is another great spot for op shopping, with several shops scattered along the retail strip. Be mindful, it is a hilly road so prepare ahead if walking is a challenge.
Whether it's vintage stores or op-shops, Hesse Street in Queenscliff is the final spot we'd recommend. Here you'll find boutique and independent stores selling all kinds of trinkets and goodies, second-hand bookstores along with op shops. It's also a beautiful Victorian-era town that's steeped in maritime and defence history, so a great day of exploring with plenty of museums to fill your time in between shopping.
