Fireworks, parties and places to eat, drink and count down.
Looking for things to do on New Year’s Eve in Geelong and The Bellarine?
Good news. You have options. Waterfront fireworks, harbour views, late-night parties and family-friendly celebrations that wrap up before bedtime melts down.
Here’s what’s on for Wednesday 31 December 2025, with a mix of big moments and book-it-now events.
If your New Year’s Eve plans include a picnic rug and a good viewing spot, the Geelong Waterfront is the go.
There will be two fireworks displays over Corio Bay at 9.30pm and midnight, visible from Western Beach, Steampacket Gardens, Eastern Beach and into Eastern Park
A few things to know before you head out:
Eastern Beach Road will be closed from around 8.00pm until 12.30am
Expect large crowds, weather dependent
There is no organised family entertainment or food stalls on Steampacket Gardens this year
Translation. Bring snacks, book dinner in Geelong and plan transport early and arrive with patience.
Portarlington is hosting a relaxed, family-friendly fireworks display at 9.30pm over the bay, proudly presented by Bellarine Bayside Holiday Parks. It’s a popular pick for families who want to celebrate without pushing bedtime too far, but still get that New Year’s Eve moment.
Parking is limited and access is via Portarlington Road, Queenscliff Road and The Esplanade. Plan ahead, carpool if you can and settle in early for a great view.
Bonus points for being easy, low stress and very kid approved.
For something that works for all ages, Queenscliff Harbour is back with a ticketed New Year’s Eve celebration kicking off from 6.30pm.
There will be live music from Vaudeville Smash and Ethan Conway, kids entertainment, food trucks and roaming magic, plus two fireworks displays at 9.30pm and midnight. Tickets are $35 for adults, kids under 12 are free, with tickets on sale from 15 December.
If standing around isn’t your thing, lock in one of these New Year’s Eve events and let someone else handle the planning.
Go all in with New Year’s Eve at 360Q in Queenscliff, serving up harbour views, a four-course dinner and prime fireworks watching.
Chase party energy at Sailors’ Rest on the Geelong Waterfront, with live music, DJs and final release tickets now on sale.
Head Bellarine-side for the New Year’s Eve Party at Portarlington Grand Hotel, where dinner rolls straight into dancing without the late-night trek home.
Tickets for these events may sell out, so get in soon to avoid missing out.
Have a great night, look after each other and cheers to rolling into 2026 together.
